Manufacturing Process

CMI manufactures customized cellular materials to meet our customers' specific applications. As part of its commitment to remaining cost effective, CMI utilizes readily available materials and manufacturing routes. CMI is headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia, where it has offices at 2 Boars Head Lane and manufacturing facilities at Five Springs Road. As part of its growth strategy, CMI has chosen to gradually increase its capital investment in fabrication equipment. At its manufacturing facilities, metal fabrication and staging equipment for assembly are available, including a GMAW welding unit, high temperature furnace, and 175 ton hydraulic press brake. CMI also has established relationships with its network of component fabricators, which allows CMI to quickly transition prototypes to production while maintaining prudent production facility growth.
